Hippocampus Password Manager

The Hippocampus Password Manager is a secure voice-activated system for storing various user names and passwords.

It should be compatible with any version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking® by ScanSoft® greater than 5.0.

  • the key and pass phrase and specific to your installation, even with a copy of your data files _and_ your pass phrase the only way to gain access is by using your physical computer. This also means if you move to another computer you will have to re-enter your passwords.

Documentation

Download (618k) and run the installation program. Start NaturallySpeaking® then start Hippo Passwords. Say "start Hippo passwords".

Once launched the password manager parks itself in the system tray ready for action. You can access to menu by clicking on the icon in the system tray.

Say "My Passwords" and the main window will appear as in the screenshot on this page. Say "Close Passwords" to exit the application and remove it from the system tray.

Dictate your pass phrase and click or say the generate button to generate at key based upon your pass phrase and other information unique to your computer system. Say or click "verify" to verify the generated key and unlock the password manager.

The rest of the window should be more or less self-explanatory. Open up notepad say "My Passwords" and experiment with the various options.

To select items from the list box just say it's name. All edit fields are enabled for dictation. The password field is set to Spell Mode so you must phonetically dictate your password or copy/paste from another application.
