The challenge winners really look super on the group home page,
outstanding. Congratulations to Jose, Mark, Steve, Johannes, and
Robert. The composite is well done too. Compare those images to
professional astrophotos of a few 10's of years ago, which were
mostly not even in color, and you guys (and most others in the
challenges) are shockingly better, as I think Samir pointed out a
while back.
I wonder if this is a little intimidating to some new members,
who don't realize typical images look nothing like this, and wonder
what they are doing wrong. It might be good to have a "new
astrophotographers" category for the challenge, maybe for people who
have been shooting for less than 6 months, or less than 1 year. I
notice that the group has 4675 members and most are not represented
in the challenges.
