Hello? Did I miss a reply or did I hit on a subject noone else cares about?
Regardless - I doodled around some more last night with my setup and I've got it down to needing to remotely fire the shutter on the Canon 10D, but still have it bulb the exposure.
So far, I've tried a couple of software packages including the Canon remote utility but 30 seconds is all I can get, even when I have it setup to do much longer on the remote.
I wonder if anyone has an SDK or something from Canon that they would point me to? I'm curious to know if there IS indeed a way to brute force the camera into long remote exposures?

Hey guys, I've been brainstorming a good solution for capturing remote pictures from my Dome using my 10D and wanted some ideas..
  Here's what I've got already.
My remote PC in the Dome is running VNC and is networked with my house - that gets me into the dome anyway.
Next - I'm planning on capturing pictures from the 10D onto a network share which is my computer, that gets the pictures HERE for quicker processing and monitoring..
But - remote focusing? Hmm. I've got a Meade motofocus which will operate from my hand controller, but I wonder if the remote hand pad software will let me focus remotely?
Also - I'm not sure, but I can't bulb pictures unless I use my Canon hand remote anyway, huh? That ties me into being in the dome for the initial setup of finding / focusing / capturing the objects. :(
Hence, the only thing I gain from the entire remote setup is being able to monitor what is coming off the camera, and perhaps adjusting the focus a little..
  Right?
Anyone else care to share their remote Canon 10D setup?
