Hi,

It is easy to change the plug on a TC-80N3 to fit the 300D / Digital
Rebel. If you cut the cable of the TC-80N3 or its extension cable you
will find several bare copper wires around an inner pair of red and
white wires. The bare copper wires are the ground, red is the
shutter, and white is for autofocus. A standard right angle 3/32"
stereo or 3 connection phone plug from Radio Shack (#274-298) can be
used with the 300D. The exposed tip of the right angle plug is for
the shutter, center ring for focus, and the base is the ground. So on
the back covered side of the right-angle plug wire the bare copper
wires from the TC-80N3 to the long gold metal lead, the red wire to
the thin middle tube, and white wire to the larger tube closest to
the exposed end of the plug.

You can use a 1/8" in-line stereo (3-connection) phone jack on the
end of the TC-80N3 cable and 1/8" stereo phone plus on the ends of
the TC-80N3 and right-angle plug to make it easy to switch plugs. The
Radio Shack 1/8" stereo phone plug is part number 274-284 and the
jack is 274-274.

Stranded 3 conductor 24AWG intercome wire can be used to make an
extension. The Radio Shack part number is 278-871.
