[digital_astro] Printing comet images

I have some pictures of comet Hyakutake and Hale-Boop I took with
35mm slide film and had transfered professionally to a Kodak digital
science Photo CD. I enhanced one picture in Photoshop and a tail
that could barely be seen before now scretched right off the page.
It's still subtle, but you can't miss it.

I tried printing the image with my 1200dpi ink jet, but the tail
doesn't show up at all. I sent it to a lab for a genuine 8x10 photo
print. On the photo, it is just barely visible under a bright light
at the right angle.

I suppose the problem is not resolution, but the fact that the tail
is blue and so is the sky background. Any ideas on how I could create
a print that the tail would show up in? I guess I could enhance the
picture more, but at some point it's going to look 'faked'. Any tips
would be appreciated. I'll upload the file if anyone wants to take a
look.
