It's under construction so let me know how it looks.
A dark frame is a frame that tells the processing program what a "black"
pixel looks like. It also tells the program how your camera sees the dark.
Every CCD chip has variations in response to zero light situations. Every
CCD has "hot" pixels that indicate "light" even when there is no light. The
processing program compares these pixels to the pixels in the photograph and
compensates.
