The backup battery is located on the circuit board behind the LCD in
the right hand portion of the 990, it is just above to the left of
the 4-way rocker switch. I dumped my camera in the lake and have
since taken it completely apart. :-(
Sorry, I don't know what kind of battery it is, as I cannot see any
markings on the battery.
