Check to see if your WalMart uses the "Fuji Frontier" system. (It
may be printed on the side of the machine somewhere, but I always
just ask.) I've had digital pics printed at two different WalMarts
with excellent results. With the Frontier system, you can upload
your pics and have them in an hour. I have read that it's a 300dpi
system, but I don't know.
When my Epson printer isn't clogged, it also gives excellent
results, but printing a bunch at WalMart is much more convenient and
probably not much more expensive. Also, and maybe more importantly,
the resulting prints probably have a much longer lifespan.
I like having a printer at home when I want something NOW, but I
think the way to go is to have photos printed by a lab which can
reproduce a traditional print.

I used to use Ofoto. I think they are even more convenient than WM
because you can upload at your leisure, and you have a lot more
options, but you pay more. I also liked the prints, and they all
seemed to turn out well for me.
