I think that's an important point. People are so concerned about
being able to up-size the resolution for printing a poster, but do
you really need to view a poster from a couple of inches?

I would like to print something poster size (not sure what,
unfortunately). So far, I have printed some 8x10's from my 3mp 880,
and the resolution is not bad. My camera came with a limited
version of Genuine Fractals, which can help you increase the size a
bit (but looks a bit fake if you try increasing it too much).

I think where the number of pixels really comes in handy is when you
want to crop. Now you're "throwing away" perfectly good pixels...
;-) Well, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, particularly if
you don't have enough zoom for your subject.

I've seen 8 x 10's from 2mp cameras that were a bit soft, but even
3mp is pretty decent (about 200dpi?). 5mp is plenty for that size!
