[NikonCoolPix] 3100 problems if the LCD is off?

Hello,

I was trying to take a picture this morning in a lower light
situation so I was framing the pic through the viewfinder instead of
the LCD. The light from the LCD was making it hard for my eye to
adjust so I turned of the LCD. I then found that with the LCD
disabled, there seems to be some oddities like really significant
delays before the autofocus mechanism kicks(~5 seconds before it even
tries) in and the camera even attempts to prepare for a shot. And
then a full depressing of the button doesn't always trigger a photo
to be taken. If I turn the LCD back on and attempt the same shot,
everything works as expected.

Has anyone else noticed this problem, or would they give it a try and
see if they have similar issues?

I've flashed my 3100 to the low-battery indicator fix.

Thanks!
Jason
