To load photos back into the camera:
1) First take a photo and connect the camera to the computer as though you
were going to off load but don't.
2) The camera memory will be configured just like any other I/O device.
Using Windows Explorer, go to My Computer and look for the device. Mine is
labelled Removable Disk (E:).
3) With Explorer, open that device and find the photo you took. It is
probably buried under several layers of directories. In my Nikon CoolPix
3100, the photo is found under:
E:\DCIM\100NIKON\DSCN1328.JPG
4) Using Explorer, you can treat this file just like any other file in your
hard drive or any where else. You can copy, delete or whatever.
5) To store a photo into the camera, simply copy from your hard drive to
that directory.
6) With my Nikon, the file name has to fit the same format as above or the
camera computer won't recognize it. The format is DSCNxxxx.JPG where xxxx
is the serial number of the photo. I find any old number will work as long
as it is four digits.
Hope this helps.
