I think the site says which camera models that the author has some
confirmation of it working on.

If you have a bright dot that appears in every photo, you might have
a hot pixel. You can reduce this by keeping the camera cool (such
as not turning on the LCD -- unfortunately, I really like using the
LCD).

Usually, they don't appear unless you use long shutter speeds, but
I've read that the chip degrades over time. Great.

BTW, not to damper your enthusiasm, but make sure you REALLY need
something like this before you try it. Otherwise, you may be better
off leaving well enough alone.

There are programs that can be run to tell you about your hot pixels
as well.
