I had read somewhere that if you take a 4mp camera but have the same
surface area for the CCD as a 3mp camera, you will have more noise,
because fewer photons are hitting each pixel. So, a 4mp picture is
still better than 3mp, but is not 4/3rds better, if you know what I
mean.

Each monitor needs to be set up individually. Theoretically, you
could make a proper color profile. I think I use something from
Adobe that came with Photoshop Elements.

But as for grain, it depends on not just the ISO setting, but also
the available light. Even if you pick a low ISO, under low light,
you'll need an even longer exposure, which will record more noise.
At some point, it might be worth while to go ahead and use a high
ISO just so things are not blurred, but that's another topic.
