What is the shutter speed on those blurry pics? A lot of times
there just isn't enough light; the camera will have to force a long
shutter speed, and you just can't hold it steady with your hands.
If you could, your subjects would still be moving around.

Try a higher ISO. If you're forcing the camera to 100 ISO for the
highest quality, try 200 or 400. Sure, 400 is noisy, but I have to
keep reminding myself, noisy is better than blurry. I tried BSS for
a while, but it really couldn't do a good enough job for me. (Maybe
it's better than nothing, but I can't convince myself that it
actually helps.)

BSS should have nothing to do with the brightness. It simply takes
multiple photos and guesses as to which one is less blurry (and IMHO
it often guesses poorly and/or I take all blurry pics).

Anothing thing you can try is check the aperture setting. If it's a
small number, that lets more light in. This should happen
automatically if you're in Program mode.
