Coolpix 995 has built-in reverse colors function. I have used Coolpix 995
with ES-E28 for copying slides and negatives. For black&white negatives
results were excellent. For color negatives the problem is, that white
balance does not work when color reversing is turned on. ES-E28 does not
contain it's own light source - you have to use external light source and
the colors you get are light source spectrum dependent. Optimal light
spectrum is different for different negative types also. I have used color
filtration head from photographic enlarger as a light source - I was able to
change light spectrum easily. Colours I have got are not perfect, but after
some work in Photoshop results are acceptable IMO. For slides the problem is
contrast - slides have greater contrast range then Coolpix CCD - so often
you have to decide if you prefer loss of details in lights or shades.
