[NikonCoolPix] Re: Compact flash cards and speed

In my 880 (which is an older model than your 995), I don't seem to get
much of a difference. I bought a Sandisk Ultra (it was on sale!), and
it wasn't much faster than my regular Sandisk. In some cases, it
actually was (slightly) slower! Odd. The best performance I saw out
of it was a 3.8 sec. shot (approx.) for the normal sandisk became
something like 3.2 on the Ultra.

On my Pocket PC, writing to it was about 4 times faster, so that was
impressive!

So, faster cards make a difference if your device can take advantage
of it. 880 owners are definately outta luck. :-( By the time I get
a camera that can make better use of it, 128mb will probably be
considered rediculously small. ;-)

By the way, the Sandisks seem slightly faster than my 8x Lexar. Yet,
all the reviews seem to show the Sandisks as being pretty slow. Go
figure.

Also, turning off "info.txt" speeds up the time noticably, at least on
the Sandisks. Too bad, as I like the extra info....
