I own a 950 and a 995. In my experience, the best way to reduce
shutter lag for action shots is to use the infinity setting. At
telephoto range, everything from about 30 ft (or closer) to infinty
will be in focus. If you use an add-on lens, the range will be
different. Try it with your camera set to infinity with your
telephoto lens on and take a few shots to see what the range of
sharpness is for your equipment at the infinity setting. At this
setting, there is NO shutter lag related to focusing.
