[Scanont] Radio Shack (Canada) Scanners for sale again soon?

I was in my local Radio Shack today and - as every time I do - I
asked about scanners
(specifically indicating radio scanners, as the other scanner kind
is usually
assumed). Knowing that they only sell the Bearcat 245-h-held (+$50
more than Radioworld,
Durham), I figured I get the usual response, i.e. "we dont
sell 'police scanners' anymore".,
"only RS in the States does"...and so on and so forth.

I was rather surprised to hear the middle-aged gentleman say (not a
younger fellow) - that
RS (Canada) will be selling scanners again "in a few months". I
asked for specifics, but
he said he knew nothing else (not sure if he really knew, was being
vague under orders, etc.)

Anybody on this board hear about this? Is it a myth? Or am I
dreaming? Would be nice,
considering that the new pro-96 digital hh will be out by the end of
the year (in the US) -
and w/o an optional card for digital/APCO-25 reception, 3600/9600
baud, etc. (pro-96
will have everything built in). How would those peculiar people at
IC deal with the distribution/selling
of the pro-96 in Canada? Only ham radio operators would be eligible
to purchase? Oh, I forgot, I am just
an irresponsible, low-level scannist w/o a life - sorry to bring
this topic up again but this
"ham-operators only" thing really really bothers me (not that it
would stop me from getting
a digital scanner). There is something rather condescending about
it, a below-the-surface arrogance.

Anyway, this whole situation would also be nice for other/analogue
RS T-Trackers unavailable
up here. No more border fees, outrageous shipping charges,
immigration officers opening
packages arriving south of the border....

Comments...criticisms...?
