Thanks all for your suggestions. I really don't care about CKPD
anyways (I know too much about how the operate and it drives me crazy
all the tax dollars that go down the tubes). I'm more interested in
fire, MOH, and OPP. OPP especially as they are now using ONLY 5
dispatch centres for the whole province. What were they thinking???
It's hard enough for CK dispatch to keep tabs on Chatham-Kent.

Anybody know of anyone looking to sell a PRO 92 V1.0?

Len.

Can't say that I would agree with the officer. We have a BEAT repeater
located in the next town over that retransmits digital to analog and it
sounds fine. You have to listen closely to tell the audio was once digital.

Has anyone noticed that for the last few days the East End Dispatch
broadcasts have been on talk group 14768, "ESM 2", rather than talk
group 48. A few weeks ago, Central Dispatch was on this talk group
for at least a few hours. Does anyone have any information about
this?

Does the OPP Utilize any special frequencies for there Underwater Search &
Recovery Unit?
They've been in the area for a day now, and just thought they might use
something other than the regular towers and the BEAT Repeater.
See why they're in the region here.

Isn't what you're suggesting illegal? And isn't this going
 way off topic?

I contacted the radio tech at the police station. He stated that there is an ongoing testing of the system. There might also have been a patch done during the time you were listening.

Oh, I knew that was coming. Humour doesn't always fare too well in this
group. Seriously though, when tracking down commercial pirates and
jammers, it's one of the best tools in our arsenal.

Whatever. I didn't start it. Steve will let us know when we go too far.

I've heard them around here on 410.8625 and the dispatcher's audio is
often terrible. Most of the time you can hardly hear them and it does
sound very digital. The mobiles sound better and the portable going
through the repeater (fully analog) sounds great. Maybe Terry can
comment on the audio quality he hears on the BC250D.

If you mean between the divers and the surface, they would probably use
a wired intercom if anything.

Ive been seriously out of the loop for a while.
How is this new OPP system working and who/where do I go to buy
scanners with boards. Any suggestions ... it's budget time.
What would you get if you could have some toys? This is for
ambulance/opp/fire chasing in Windsor.

Thx to all who have replied, the audio quality if find very good, a
little tinny and some times a slight warble. I do find the audio
jumps sometimes on digital signals.
I live near Ottawa and Zone2 is not working here yet, so this was a
good chance to use the 250/card.

Terry
