Yup..they have 2 frequencies:

167.010 and 168.150.

I've never heard anything on the 167 one, but give it a shot anyway.

Port Colborne is on 169.590 BTW.

Actually, with the bad weather, I'll post all of them:

St. Catharines Hydro: 170.025/162.795
Niagara Falls Hydro: 151.625/162.765/167.520/179.290
Welland Hydro: 167.010/168.015
Port Colborne Hydro: 169.590
Hydro One (Rural Areas): 49.410 - this is what Ontario Hydro used to use
anyway..not sure if it's still used.

Any good active Ham repeaters in the Hamilton/Burlington area. I face
the east so anything west of me is hard to pick up.

After seeing the skywarn repeaters and this crappy weather it got me
to thinkin'

You have a good point Mike....you're correct that "It's pretty sad when they
have to make a law that basically forces you
 to use common sense."

I've heard it said that you can't legislate common sense...I guess we'll all
find out.

Too bad "common sense" isn't too common.

 Eric:

You can go to the Radio Amateurs Canada websight www.rac.ca and click
the link there to get a listing of all Ontario and a few NorthWestern
New York State repeaters. The list shows almost ALL Amateur repeaters in
the areas.
Good luck and happy listening.

The only one I know of in the area is VE3NCF, which is owned by the
Hamilton radio club (where I got examined for my license.. highly
recommended for those looking to get certified, if you don't mind the
haul to Hammertown.

444.0750, positive offset, PL tone of 131.8 - they might be a part of
IRLP, but I can't remember (gotta get myself a radio with DTMF one of
these days...!)

I can SOMETIMES hit it from my apartment in Toronto with my 4 watt
portable, so you shouldn't have a problem in Hamilton proper.

I just had my MTX838 reprogrammed, so I'm trying out a bunch of new
repeaters (grin)

There is also 443.675 with a pl of 131.8 where a bunch of us guys who drive for a living hang out during the day. There is also a technical net on there every friday night run by VE3BQQ. This repeater is just east of Hamilton and covers the golden horseshoe nicely.

443.675.. what kind of coverage does it get? Where is the repeater
located?

I'm on the lookout for some new repeaters to listen to (rarely talk on
'em)...

Actually to be more specifc. The site in question was a repeater site
for amateur radio for some time before the cell site appeared.
The cellular operator wanted the site. Arrangments were made;
the amateur site remains, the antennas ae on the same tower as the cell
antennas. The amateur equipment lives inside a nice heated in the
winter, cooled in the summer structure and the site owner gets revenue
from leasing the site to the cell operator.
On the 6th concession between Centre Road and hwy #6.

Burlington, Ontario

PS you may also want to try the VE3RSB site 444.825 pl tone 131.8
whch is located on the northwest corner of Dundas street (former hwy 5)
and Brant Street in North Burlington.
