Well since it is only a dual conversion uniden it could very well be intermod dragging it
down or just a strong signal somewhere that is causing it, I highly doubt it has anything
to do with you feed setup since the other scanners work fine on it, the 2005 is a triple
conversion gre and the 895 we know is a uniden and I think it is a triple conversion also.

You've either got high losses in your coax or strong cell phone channel
overload.
Your back of the set antenna is probably the best way to go!

I had a RS 2026 once for all of a few days. It had a serious cell phone
interference problem with just the stock antenna. There as no way to fix it
and I returned it to RS for a refund.

I can say that the PRO-2026 is no hell for signal-handling as
well as image problems as noted. The BC895 is triple-conversion
but also suffers from overload desensitization especially on
800MHz, where I end up using a back-of-set antenna most of the
time.

Glen;
Sounds like you have tested everything OK. I would definitely be
looking at the radio only at this stage. It appears you have ruled
out everything else.

In the Toronto area, listen to VE3ULR on 442.025. This
is the HUB of the CANWARN system for South Central
Ontario, operating out of the Toronto Weather Office.
Listen for the "CANWARN Net Control" Station with the
callsign VE3YZW. 442.025 is located near Uxbridge,
northeast of Toronto so you may not be able to hear it
depending on your location. Also, remember, it will
only be active with CANWARN traffic if a severe
weather event exists. The Toronto CANWARN office uses
the following frequencies in Central Ontario which can
be linked using the 442.025 frequency:

Hey all...
Can someone please post all the frequencies that the London (Ontario)
Fire Dept. use... I'm looking for both the Trunked frequencies, as well
as the conventional ones... I've seen a bunch of new frequencies on the
group in the last little while, so I assume the list that's up at
trunkedradio.net isn't complete.
Thanks!

It's interesting that the main CANWARN repeater is a UHF machine.
I'm fortunate that my HT and mobile rigs are dual-band and could
access this repeater. But I would think some of the spotters only
have VHF equipment and might miss out on the nets. Is the 'CTV
repeater always linked to 'ULR during CANWARN activation and, if so,
what is the repeater coverage like?

The UHF machine is the hub repeater, and is not normally used for checkins.
The net controllers will activate the repeaters in the area that the severe
weather specialists want reports from.

The ulr repeater on uhf is mainly used as a hub repeater. The Canwarn controllers will bring up the required local repeaters.
The CTV repeater is brought up as required for severe weather in the Toronto area.

Okay that makes sense. Thanks to all for clarifying that for me! I
grew up in Windsor and first became a ham/CANWARN spotter there. I
moved to Mississauga a few years ago and want to keep up with my
training. I'll have to remember to load up those repeaters in my
mobile and HT!
One question: are any Peel region repeaters part of this network or
is the VE3CTV coverage adequate?
