Monitor The Bell FLEX Network and Coverage - Ontario & Québec
As well as Rogers?
Am I able to monitor the alphanumeric pager signals that keep squawking on
the scanner.

Thanks for the low down, I assume that even with the Uniden Bearcat Scanner Trunktracker 3 BC785D, with optional BCi25D APCO Project Digital Card for 3600 baud, the encryption is the other roadblock. ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 6 Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 06:44:05 -0500 From: "Mike Iszak" <mike@warpzone.ca> Subject: RE: What would I need to... Yes, it's very easy to monitor POCSAG (older) and FLEX (newer) pagers, however it is illegal. Look for a program called POCFLEX. It runs (I think) in Windows, and needs a dataslicer to work. I've never used this before, but I've seen it working before, pretty cool. There's also a program called POC32 for windows that decodes pocsag pagers (the 149.770 and 140.160 variety) through your soundcard. I don't know if Ericsson even makes a P25 radio. But I know for a fact London is not P25, by virtue that an Astro Spectra won't decode them, and that their system is so old..ie..before P25 was "the norm". What kind of Bell Towers? If you mean cell phone towers, the only place to go is Steve Punter's website. http://www.arcx.com/sites/ Its got maps of not only Bell's cell towers, but all of the other companies. Hope thats of some help to you. bryan ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 9 Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 12:37:22 -0000 From: "glen282001" <unicorn1717@hotmail.com> Subject: how to decode 940.525 & 940.2625 paging signals Hi all. I've got a working 2 & 4 level decoder, working in the Winflex software program, and it works great for the 931mhz flex stuff, but it will not decode the signals on 940.525, and 940.2625. These are listed in TAFL as Rogers Wireless paging channels, but the data sounds like it is at a much higher rate than Flex. Anyone tried this? Also the 2 & 4 level decoder will not decode some of the paging services in the 414Mhz band. Anyone have any luck with those? I believe that frequencies in the 940 MHz band are links between transmitter sites. Those in the 414 band definitely are links. They may use different data protocols than the actual pager transmissions. Not sure where you were looking, but a TAFL search shows those frequencies belonging to Madison Telecommunications and Bell Mobility, not Rogers. -- Michael Fenech Toronto, Ontario ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 13 Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 11:05:23 -0800 From: "Mike Iszak" <mike@warpzone.ca> Subject: Re: F.S. Its new features was EDACS & non-800/900 systems, multi-system scan, trunked/conventional, computer control and a few other perks. It came out over four years ago. ____________ Bryan C. My 245 is still up for sale and I'll throw in 100 feet of LM 400 to sweeten the deal. It's mint, 18 months old and comes with leather case, programming cable, original owners manual, stock ducky and charger. J. "Just watch me."
