Hey all.
I've finally got my data-slicer working and am playing around with
Trunker.
What I'm noticing is a lack of a certain feature that would be REALLY
nice.
I've manually put in all the talkgroups I can find from trunkedradio.net
However, I'm wondering if there's some way I can have Trunker log all
the talkgroups that I DON'T have identified.
A semi-related question...how does treport differ from Trunker?
Thanks :)

Trunker already does that. Make sure you save when you quit and then edit
the xxxxgrp.txt file to add the names in.

Treport will show talkgroups and radio id's but not allow you to annotate
them.
Treport is more of a tool that system administrators can use to see how the
system is setup and performing.

Grin. That would be pretty funny.. and if the MTO had any brains they'd put them on the no-no list.

That would be better, although most people either wouldn't get it, or they'd think it was a strange coincidence.. :)

Maybe it wasn't she couldn't give it to you..
Try getting 253.com as a domain name and you'll most likely have your answer.
Then get 1O-6O instead of 10-60.. :)

I would assume so, and probably in the normal course of plate assignment.
But, like I said, not everyone would 'get' it...and you'd be playing big $$ for the priviledge of getting a totally innocuous licence plate.. kinda like a flesh-coloured tattoo.. :)

If you want "253", try "SEC 253" or "CCC 253".
It's not an OPP term, although they use it, it's a section in the
Canadian Criminal Code.

How about just get IMADRUNK.. it would be a lot easier and more people would get it...
Or DRNK DRVR

Frequencies in the 414/419 MHz range are often used for links between a
dispatch center and a remote transmit or receive site. They don't
usually have PL tones on them. When the "carrier" tone is present, it
tells the dispatch center equipment that this particular remote
receiver isn't hearing any activity and to mute the audio from it.
The only way to listen without the tone noise is to have a squelch that
activates when it hears the marker tone. Those of us who listened to
the Toronto Police back in the old days might recall having to add this
feature to our scanners to block out the data signal that was
continuously sent between voice transmissions.

That would have been issued around 1983 - 1984 (I had a plate with XJO issued
in NOV 1984), so it's probably been retired by now. Unfortunately Ontario
doesn't re-issue retired numbers.

I've heard it being used by Toronto Police.. As well as on Toronto and HaPpY EMS.
I wanted to pick something thats easy to remember. It was either that or VA3ASS, but I didn't want to be indecent.

I have heard the term HBD used by the WATERLOO REGIONAL POLICE as well
as the Local Fire and Ambulance. I have also heard it used by the Sincoe
County Ambulance. I think it is a pretty common term used by similar EMS
services.

Anyone catch any activity on it?
My current scanning situation doesn't call for monitoring talkgroups ouside of standard norms.
