Wal Mart just opened a new store in Fort Erie and I will be taking my Opto
Scout frequency counter to the store and see what frequencies I can find,
I'll post the frequencies I find some time this week.

Hi Eric,

I take the Milton line everyday so I usually monitor the train
frequency 413.9375 (no PL). The coverage is pretty impressive
considering the area GO services. I also find listening to the
railway mainline frequencies can be useful as you'll hear chatter
between GO engineers and RTC, other engineers, etc. They often talk
about signal problems, restricted areas and so on. For the Union to
Hamilton run listen to CN mainline 161.415. Milton uses CP trackage
so I listen to 161.475.

Commuter Central is repeatered (Repeated? Repeaterized?) throughout everywhere that GO services. GO Trains are dispatched from the Willowbrook GO facility.

A few years back I was up in the Callandar area near
North Bay and put the scanner on search mode. We found
several of these "old" freqs in use for algonquin park
outfitters...seems many of them have solar powered
"telephones" which are really just two way radios in a
black box (full duplex) that can access these
repeaters for wireless local loop telco service...

Freqs are at the bottom of the webpage....

I haven't listened to them lately, but unless they've changed in the past week and a few days, commuter central's still in the 410 mHz range.

GO Transit's rail ops are on 413.9375. They have a series of repeaters located across the area. Toronto, Cambridge and Churchill are the ones I remember.

Thanks 2 all for the Go transit info. I will take my scanner on the
bus/train more often. Perhaps I will let my fellow commuters know why
the train/bus is late, etc.
Also, I joined a Southern Ontario weather group. This seems cool. As
we all know the weather plays a role in everything we do, very much
so with radio comms.
I hope lots of people post info, storms, data, etc, monitor the snow
plows, etc. It could be fun and imformative.
Whomever started it up, great idea and I happy to join.

Doesn't anyone else have a SEARCH button on their scanner? :-)

Actually the BC560 that I use to feed Trunker while monitoring the Gov.

Should I bother updating the map I created of active tower sites with their respective freq's or is that an idea that wasn't accepted?

One thing that immediately comes to mind is to cut off northern Ontario
where the system doesn't exist yet leaving a much smaller map. 2.6 MB
might be a bit too much for those without high-speed Internet. As for
the frequencies, I'd leave them off the map as they still seem to be
building the system and adding new frequencies. The site numbers and
maybe a list of numbers & site names would be good.

Does anyone still hear 412.8875 being used for OPP mobile repeaters?
I've had it in the scanner since it was reported as OPP, but haven't
heard a peep. I live near the 401, 403, 409 & 427 highways so there is
no lack of OPP activity and 410.8625 is very busy.
