No kidding... I tried to order a CTCSS tone board for a Pro-2045 I bought
off ebay a few years back. What a hassle that was. I ended up having a
friend in the US buy it for me, and relay it over.

Rob,

Each zone needs to be in a different bank. Because you can get the control channel from any of the four zones, basically anywhere in Toronto,. you cacombine them. This only works if the two(or four, in this case) systems are far enough apart that you will never receive all the data channels at once. I'll send you my Toronto SPG by a separate e-mail.

Todd

I have a Pro92 - does anyone have experience in programming in the Toronto Public Safety System to optimize performance and reduce space?

Can all four zones be programmed in one bank, or is it best to put each zone into it's own bank?

Also ... at one time Metro Police had lots of conventional 800 MHz freqs. Do they still use them?

There is a toronto.p95 and a toronto.txt file in the trunktrackingradios
group at Yahoo groups. Bank 0 is police with all of their talk groups. Bank
1 is Fire with all of their talk groups. Bank 2 is Ambulance with their talk
groups. Police use Trunking primarily, but I do hear the odd conversation
on some of the non-trunked 800mHz frequencies. Banks 0 and 1 both have the
same trunked frequencies, since that is the way the PRO-95 works.. Only
needs the control channels, and I have all four towers in each of these two
banks. Bank 2 is EDACS, since Ambulance is a different system.

I find this works well for me. For the PRO-92 or PRO-93 you can convert
down using Don's conversion program and inject into a PRO-92 or 93 but you
will loose something. Not the frequencies, since none of these three banks
use all that many, but the talk groups. I have almost 100 in Bank 0 and
around 40+ in Bank 1 but you could pick and choose or only use one bank and
leave it OPEN instead of closed. Your choice....

Would you care to translate this one into something I can relate to?
Perhaps the frequency, or what is channel 72? My scanner does not work
using channels unless I put something in them, and my channel 72 may well
NOT be the same as your channel 72...

Likely will come out in the November 2003 timeframe, but again likely only
south of the border... I cannot see RS Canada selling them - they are
bailing out of that market.
