The 900Mhz stuff is telemetry from transformer sites around the area.

I believe that Barrie PUC is a separate entity from the City of Barrie and
therefore not part of the trunk system. You can monitor their activities on
165.615.

Just hit the weather button, and it was in English!!! They have 4 channels,
it would make sense to have 1 English Land, 1 French Land, 1 English Marine,
and 1 French Marine. Okay this forecast is getting depressing.... <scan>

That's the same as it is in MOST of the US, except a few, like the
Nanny State of Minnesota...the state where nothing is allowed.

The opened this for a big fire. Check south Tac 3, that is where they
told them to use that channel. It looks to be over now.

If you do end up heading west into Manitoba, be aware that

More specific (Manitoba) do not mount the unit to vehicle and have a
portable in the trunk or at least turned off. RCMP run APCO25 800 MHz
digital, EMS analog.
BTW if you are going to Ontario via Michigan beware, same as
Minnesota. I always wondered how they get scanners to the store in
those states if they can't be transported. (Grin)

I wish they would just run two channels French and English. I think
it works out to every 10 minutes though.
