I think that would most likely work with any dual plug speaker/mic as
long as the larger plug is the speaker. My only concern would be the
tension the stretched coiled cord would have on trying to pull the
plug out of the socket all the time. I used to use a black wire tie
to tie the coiled cord off to the base of the antenna as a strain
relief.

Subject: Patch IDs for York Regional Pol on Pro-2067, etc.
Hello everyone: Finally got my cable to upload my Win92 data to the
2067, via
a kind offer from someone on this newsgroup. Thanks again for all
the responses.
Just a couple of queries now, if I may (please forgive my ignorance):
1. Is there anyone (or someone w/a 2067) who knows the specific ID
codes for
YRP when patching their 5 districts. I have IDs individually for (in
decimal, MOT TII):
1 District =48 4 District =144
2 District =80 5 District =176
3 District =112
I have read that Districts 1, 3 & 4 are respectively patched w/IDs
of 51, 115 and 147
and that Districts 2 & 5 are respectively patched w/IDs of 51, 115
and 147
They show a differential of 3, but the Win92 program wont accept the
patched IDs,
I assume (because) they are not multiples of 16.
--->Does anyone know specific IDs for 1-3-4 and 2-5 D's, or any
other combination of
districts? Another kind member of this group has explained this to
me but, I still cant
understand (I just need specific ID #'s, or does it even work like
that.?) so I will put it
to all the expert's of SCANONT.
2. Can both Motorola & EDACS systems (2 of them) or even two MOT
systems be
programmed into the same bank, even w/ conventional frequencies. Or
is only one data
channel allowed per bank? This question neglects 2 MOT or 2 EDACS
systems in the
same bank (which works, I am told) so long as the 2 TX sites are far
enough away
from one another so as to allow RX of one data channel at a time.
Hence no confusion.
Thanks everyone, and sorry if I have exhausted you.
Mike/

Subject: Icom-R5 scanners
Can someone tell me if the Icom-R5 scanner can be fully controlled between the scanner and computer, for searches, locking out birdies, and logging frequencies it would find with a program like ScanGold. I'm just wondering if the Icom R5 is like the other computer controlled scanners and can do everything.

Ooops...
"Districts 2 & 5 are respectively patched w/IDs of 51, 115
and 147"
SHOULD READ
"Districts 2 & 5 are respectively patched w/IDs of 83 or 179"

I have an R5, but Icom doesn't give you any info on what you can do
computer wise. From the software I've seen for the R2, it would appear
that you can only program the radio not control it in real time.
