Sorry for the late reply, been out of town. One of the tricks with Win 2K install (if it hangs) is to insert a Win 98 install CD. IIRC, the install is looking for access to the Win 98 cabs - but doesn't really use them (go figure). Might help, probably can't hurt.
As a sidebar, the reason I was looking for files, was because the Win 98 SE 2 install came with a special file on a diskette (?) supplied with the CD. IIRC file name is vesta14rc1.exe.

Subject: Re: [QCUIAG] Help with running Vesta 690k with XP?

I have these three versions of Philips drivers, which I obtained to
use with my Vesta 675. Is any of them the one you need?

VestaWebUpdate16.exe
(my system went nuts after I loaded this ... don't know if this is the
culprit)
"The VestaWebUpdate16.exe file is a driver upgrade for the PCVC675K,
PCVC680K and PCVC690K Philips PC Cameras. You may use this driver
upgrade if you encounter problems with
- audio support
- fatal exception in QCAP.DLL when using Philips Wizard
- missing Win98 CDROM during installation under Windows Millenium
Edition
- Twain support
- Windows 2000 protection
- blocked installation in Windows XP."

VestaWebUpdate15.exe
(I'm not certain, but I think this version worked well for me with
Win2K Pro)

Windows 2000 and Windows ME compatible."
