OK - so following on from yesterday's problem, it seems that the PC has *no* bi-directional (only) mode for the LPT. All it has is either ECP, EPP, or both. The laptop, otoh, has bi-directional support and QCV2 runs just fine on it. I guess this means that I can only use the laptop or I need another PC :O(
