Hi all,

I think it is wiser to check facts before starting to bring an accusation against somebody.

I have my own experience, because 1.5 year ago I behold my M13 picture on SAC company website without my permission and also with incorrect description. At first I condemned them of theft, but soon it appeared that they put my picture there by mistake.
Now we know that SAC is very serious company.

I think that we should wait for sorting out the problem between Astromeccanica and Steve Chambers.
Then we can talk about it more.

As I know, the new B/W CCD camera is based on ICX098AL(BL) chip.
This is a very new project and I was asked for participation by Astromeccanica last Wednesday. My participation would be to add support for filter wheel control to K3CCDTools.

As concerning adapter, you can find many manufacturers of adapters for webcams over the world. All adapters are very similar, because they are dedicated for the same dimensions (on webcam and also on telescope side). I think, it would be very unwise to indict all the companies.

I would also like to clear the position of K3CCDTools in the matter.
Astromeccanica contacted me for permission to use K3CCDTools on their CD-ROM which should be supplied with their new camera.

Before doing any agreement I asked about legality of the camera and I warned them about copyright statement on Steve's website if it is based on SC mod.
I was told that everything is OK.
At time of making agreement I had no reasons to mistrust to Astromeccanica.
It was based on two following experiences:
1, They contacted me about K3CCDTools. They could bypass me and distribute K3CCDTools without my knowledge. In this case I would never reveal that they use my software without my permission. So I considered them a very honest company.
2, Also when I ordered Nikon adapter from them, they didn't wait until my money arrived to them (as it is usual) and they sent me the adapter earlier.
So trust was built at that time.

I hope the things will sort out quicky and we will hear the final statement from Steve Chambers and Astromeccanica.

Clear skies,

Peter K3

<p> Gday,

One wonders if this new camera will be using a 424 chip...

Oh and I really like your "Prime focus (31,8mm barrel) adapter for
webcam", I just cant decide if I should get one from you or the
Steven Mogg adapter. I guess I doesnt really matter that much,
  considering they are identical.

This bloke must rekon we're all a few sheep short in the top paddock.
