My name is Paolo Lazzarotti and I head Astromeccanica company.
I was told by Peter Katreniak some confusion was here with ES640 CCD
camera and my intention is to make situation clear to everybody.
At beginning Astromeccanica and Astronomica agreed with ES640 project:
they were producing cameras and we were providing with selling. We had
assurance from them about copyrights and other permissions granted, so
we went on with distributing.
But after a couple of months Astronomica suddenly decided to abort his
collaboration with us for unexplicable problems; I suppose, with a lot
of sadness, they were using our best known company as spring board to
let their name well shown up in the market!
Now I know also Carsten Arnholm was exploited with his work and Steve
Chambers had no answer from them so far, my supposition is moving to a
certainty.
Since a short time we started to make this camera entirely by ourself
and we just spent a lot of time with sensor's datasheet studying and
K3CCDTools interfacing in order to avoid a stop to the production.
This project is close to the Chamber's one BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME: over
all the world there's only ICX098 CCD sensor series capable of these
features and these devices can been drived in a one way only: the same
well explained for the first time by Steve Chambers!
Internal components, electronic boards and other things included with
ES640 are totally different from Steve's original project and electronic
parts are holded in a aluminum case very hard to reproduce!
Moreover, thanks to the Peter's help, we're going to introduce a
semi-professional CCD camera with b/w CCD sensor and RGB filter wheel
built-in we'll be better standing out our production through.
But if Steve should not yet agree with our device distributing, I'm
ready to better explain ES640 functioning in depth and talk further with
him about eventual agreement I was thinking to be already with
Astronomica and I discovered not be so, indeed.
I'm very proud to say Astromeccanica *NEVER* took advantage of
somebody's work without permission or other agreement and here there are
members who can confirm it!
