Hi Carsten and all,

I must admit that I have jumped to the conclusion that they are the same
company just because Astronomica's camera is a development of the "mythical"
ES 640 which is the name of a similar camera sold by Astromeccanica.

I have only contacted Astronomica and was passed to a lawyer service which
left me in no doubt that they did not want to discuss if the easy shot was a
modified webcam!

I am amazed at the similarity of the picture taken with the easy shot and
the one in your (Carstens') tutorial.

Now as I am under certain legal obligations I need to completely change the
subject again so that what follows is not in reference to the above
companies.

I think all of us who contribute to the hardware side of qcuiag and astrocam
do so because they enjoy it. However seeing people take the information we
provide for their own financial gain certainly takes some of this enjoyment
away!

Today one member of qcuiag should be walking around with a big smile on his
face waiting for dark to try a newly developed camera out. I don't want to
steal any thunder but if it all checks out OK it going to be very special!

Its up to all qcuiag members to do what they can to create an environment in
which such details can be distributed. Qcuiag members have offered me a
very great deal of support for which I am very grateful. However as qcuiag
seems to keep coming up with ideas with financial value we might need a new
way to get the information out to qcuiag members while still retaining
control over it. An impossible dream?

Steve

This is indeed the important message. Notice that I do not know if
Astromeccanica are in any way related to Astronomica (I had never heard of
Astronomica until today).

<em class="quotelev1">> Maybe you should contact Steve Wainwright directly so that a formal

Although Steve Wainwright has my deepest respect for creating and
maintaining QCUIAG, this is a legal question of copyright, governed by even
higher authorities. Also, AFAIK, these people are not (active) QCUIAG
members.

<em class="quotelev1">> And maybe you should charge them for violation of your copyright.

Perhaps, it would seem logical. I wonder if other QCUIAG members recognise
their images too?
