Hi,
I'm in a high thunderstorm area. I use a balun on the input - static can't collect. Won't protect it in a bad storm though. I've got used to unplugging the TV and radio during a storm. I unplug the PCR from the antenna when not using it. One day I'm still gong to get got when I forget .. if you see what I mean :). The whole balun idea is a bit frought - there's too much signal and AM stations pin the S meter on all my sets.
