You can also buy Bonito software online from www.marinecomputing.com in
England, and we accept online orders and payments if you prefer - the Bonito
site does not accept credit card payments.
In our experience the software runs fine under XP so long as you use Windows
Update to apply all the Microsoft patches, and you also make sure yo have
the latest drivers for your sound card.

Tim Thornton

Subject: [PCR-1000] RadioCom price - OFF TOPIC
Hey! These are not too expensive, but ... too bad for me, i live
in Sweden, and if i order anything from the USA i will have to
pay alot of extra money for shipping and taxes, and for
administrative costs. Usually, when one orders anything from
outside the EU, this crappy country will punish the buyer with
this sort of "fines". I looked at the customs (called "tullen" in
Sweden) page here in Sweden, and they have this calculator
that shows what a product will cost to buy from other countries...
The customs wants 3.5% of the price. Then its VAT 25%, and the
postal fee is 63 SEK + 35 SEK for payment fee ... (dumb) Well...
eh... i dont know if there are more fees, but i suppose there are. But
with these the price for RadioCom5.2 (225.5$ = 1925 SEK) is up to
2848 SEK. But this price is presumably too positive. From the
www.bonito.net :
There i can buy the RadioCom software for 232 EUR, that is 2175 SEK.
I suppose that is closer to the truth... If i buy the software from
the "official reseller" in Sweden the price is 2350 SEK for RC 5.0RX ...
does that support win XP ?? Well, as you all know its no
fun with taxes and fees...
(1$ = abt. 8,5 SEK)
(1 EUR = abt. 9,4 SEK)
And by the way... that stupid *** that waved that stupid "offer" about...
i have often reflected upon stupid people on the internet... but what kind
of
moron sends a message about pirated software to a list full with resellers?
And who would use this kind of crap software for sensitive equipment like
the
PCR1K, with the chance to fubar the eeprom and perhaps worse. Its not really
like the radio is cheap! And if you think that it is, well.. then you can
afford the
real deal.
