This may be a "long shot", but perhaps some system files was replaced
with newer or older ones when you installed the firewall. Off-topic,
what firewall did you install? My suggestion is that you reinstall the
TalkPCR software and restart the system. That may do the trick.
Else you may have to uninstall the firewall and reinstall it, or just
change to another one. Tiny Personal Firewall is a good one...
or perhaps Sygate Personal Firewall... and they are freeware.
ZoneAlarm is good too...
I dont know if the TalkPCR program tries to do anything using any
kind of "network connection" (local, not remote i assume)... But
you may try to look into your firewall log to see if there is any kind
of attempts that gets blocked.
