I use the ICOM Version 2.0 on my Windows 98 and XP machines.

I had all sorts of problems with TalkPCR on the Windows 98 machine. It
would crash and it also had an annoying habit not releasing my sound card
after the program was closed. It would usually take rebooting to get it to
completely shut the program down.

The Icom software is pretty limited and does inhibit using the radio to its
full extent. TalkPCR seemed to be arranged better but I couldn't get it to
run right. I've had to relegate my PCR-100 to monitoring a single channel
or at he most a dozen or so channels.

Whatever you choose make sure you back up your EEPROM.
