Now's time to pick one up without the software package.
~$260. Particularly if you've invested in a service manual to
try to help the sick one. Then you'd have a source of spare parts.
Or in my case... I bought a second AR-8000 for $375 (discont'd)
since the first display was bad. After examining the new one, I
noticed the old elastomer strip had a funny edge. So, holding
the old elastomer strip in liquid nitrogen, I honed the strip
square. Now I have two handhelds... with good displays.
I like the PCR-1000 best, though.
