Hi all...
This is just a heads up to let ya all know that I have a working TrunkTracking program
for the PCR-1000. It uses the sound card to decode the control channel and has options
to display the Control Channel Info info like Trunker including a dump listing...
It currently supports the Motorola type formats except APCO-25(9600 baud)..
In San Diego, I've tested it on the older TypeII system and Astro (Apco-25 3600 baud)...
With the TypeII system I get a signal of S-3 to S-5 and get a recovery rate from 90% to 100%.
And with the RCS South system I get a signal of S-7+, I get a constant recovery rate at 100%...
I started out this project using the code from MDT Monitor which uses the sound card to decode
mdt traffic. I added the basic code from Trunker to decode the Outbout Signaling Words. In this
way I was getting a recovery rate about 50% to 70% which wasn't good enough...
I then added code from the public released code from 'Capture' by Rick Parrish, specifically the Pll
section from that and the Pll section from 'Trunker'... After some tinkering I was getting a recovery rate
to %80, but still not good enough...
I then turned to my OLD decoding algorithms from my Atari 800 that I used to decode RTTY through the PIO
port... And after some tweaking here and there and trying different sampling rates I finally acheived 100% with a good signal source :-)
So now, I am in the finishing stages of adding the final touches to the GUI and program operation...
If there is something that you would like to see in the application, please let me know and I'll see what I can do...
I should be releasing it to the public in the next couple of weeks for trial and beta testing...
Regards,
Jay
