Currently on Ebay there is an auction for Bonito Software specifically =
for the PCR1000. I believe that this is specific software adapted for =
the 1000 and packaged with the rig. It does not have a dongle. The bids
=
are running at around $75 at the moment. Does this not qualify as free =
software and can I be castigated for soliciting a copy for my existing =
1000. Any comments.

Hello Craig
Consider that the best way to obtain software for hams may be to use
emule.
If u do this way look for bonito as keyword yn the search box or
this others keywords:
[RW]
Hamradio

I thought that the general opinion on the PCR-1000 group was that Bonito
software was high priced junk. And to go with the Talk PCR program. Just
wondering, if I'm wrong I'm sorry. By the way Ham Radio Outlet in the
states has the Bonito software for $68 which is the version they include
with new PCR-1000's.

In my opinion Bonito is junk no matter the price, I would not use
it even if it was for free.

If you can get a PCR-1000 WITHOUT bonito, THAT'S the real bargain.
Please let me know.
Thanks

Can not find "RadioCom 4.5 IC" on HRO's web site.
Only bundled with PCR1K.

I had called HRO in Portland. The gentleman there said that it was
available separately. But your right, I don't see it listed on thier
website.
